Cape Town's Table Mountain spent the weekend being ushered onto the New 7 Wonders of Nature list, with an official ceremony taking place yesterday. The 1,086-meter (3,563 feet) mountain, which rises over Cape Town and provides panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding countryside, was voted onto the list in a 2011 poll that drew more than 100 million votes from 220 countries. Developed by Reaction Engines Ltd. (REL), the new technology to be used in the Sabre (Synergetic Air-Breathing Rocket Engine) engine would enable aircraft to fly into orbit and back directly from a runway, and fly anywhere in the world in four hours.
